UAE expands Golden Visa benefits with consular services abroad

Under the new measures, Golden Visa holders and their dependents can now access a range of vital services through UAE embassies and missions worldwide, including:

• Emergency assistance abroad, including crisis response and evacuation support during natural disasters or political unrest.

• Passport replacement services, allowing Golden Visa holders who lose their passports overseas to obtain an Electronic Return Document - issued within 30 minutes and valid for re-entry into the UAE within seven days.

• 24-hour consular hotline, offering immediate support for emergencies and enquiries

• Repatriation and burial coordination, ensuring swift support for families in case of the death of a Golden Visa holder abroad.

These changes underline the UAE’s continued efforts to enhance the long-term residency experience and recognise the contribution of its global residents. As Omar Obaid Alhesan Alshamsi, Undersecretary at the MoFA, stated, this initiative reflects the country’s “forward-thinking approach” to attracting and retaining top global talent.

• Highly skilled professionals earning at least AED 30,000 per month in key industries such as medicine, engineering, technology, and law.

• Exceptional talents, including innovators, scientists, artists and athletes, endorsed by UAE government entities.

The Golden Visa can also extend to spouses, children, parents, and domestic workers, reinforcing the UAE’s appeal as a secure and stable base for families.
